From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Airwide Solutions is a privately-held United States-based mobile messaging and wireless internet infrastructure company.

The company was founded in 2004 through the merger of Taral Networks and Schlumberger's Messaging Solutions unit,[1] formerly Sema Group. Airwide acquired Finnish company First Hop in 2007.[2]

Neil Papworth, a test engineer at Sema at the time, sent the world's first SMS message over the Vodafone GSM network in December 1992.[3]

In 2008, Airwide Solutions won the gold award for innovation at the Mobile Advertising and Marketing Awards.
