[edit] History

AirportWatch was formed in 2000.

In the run-up to the 2007 Camp for Climate Action near Heathrow Airport BAA sought a wide-ranging injunction which could have 'banned millions' by naming AirportWatch as an injunctee[2] which became know as the 'mother of all injuctions'[3]. In the end the airport operator won a much reduced injunction naming John Stewart (chair of AirportWatch), Joss Garman and Leo Murray from Plane Stupid but not including AirportWatch or its members[4].

[edit] Campaign 'Issues'

These campaign issues have been identified by AirportWatch[5]:

  • Environmental impact near airports
  • Growth in low-cost holiday flights affecting the UK economy
  • Possible environmental effects from aviation
