Air South Asia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Air South Asia, formerly known as Holiday Air, is a low-cost airline based in Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is going to be the first low-cost airline to take to the skies from Sri Lanka. The airline was scheduled to commence services to a selected number of destinations in India in March 2007, but the launch was postponed and, as of 2007, the status of the airline is unclear.

The airline was given a license by the Sri Lankan Government to go international last year, and was given the license to fly to four Indian Destinations this year. Within a year, the airline will upgrade its fleet to eight aircraft, and will operate to South East Asia and the Middle East. They also will promptly start domestic services. A new logo and booking system will also be introduced soon. Air South Asia has also entered into an agreement with Malaysia's AirAsia Bhd., which will assist them with maintenance and training.
