Air Pollution Control Act

This first United States Act about air quality was put into effect in 1955 by the 84th United States Congress (Pub.L. 84-159). This act suggested additional research and education on the issue, and said that air pollution was a serious problem. This act did not put into effect any restrictions on polluters.
