Air Dravida is a start-up airline based in Chennai, India, planning to operate domestic scheduled services within southern India[1].

The airline was established in November 2005 and is owned by Zircon International, Premier Tours and Travels. The holding company has over 20 years experience in selling and promoting air transport and allied services[1]. In mid-2006 it was reported that the airline's application for grant of NOC as a scheduled air services operator was in the final stage of processing[2].

Air Dravida will connect the cities of Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Madurai and Trivandrum initially.The airline's major hubs will be at Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad[3]. The first flight will be introduced in June 2008 from Chennai to Madurai.

The start-up fleet of Air Dravida will consist of four Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft with 50 seats all economy class[2]. The fleet will gradually be increased to six aircraft by the end of first year of operations. All aircraft will be leased[3].
