[edit] Cameras
AIPTEK is known for producing various cameras that can perform a multitude of tasks. They are often labeled "5-in-one" or "6-in-one" or "hybrid" cameras with features including (but not limited to): still photography, video recording, mp3 playback, voice annotation, memory card reader / portable storage, web camming and digital video recording (with audio/video in support) and video playback.
AIPTEK also produces and/or sells digital cameras of a more professional grade, including waterproof cameras. These cameras cost considerably more than their budget models, but seem to follow a higher quality performance standard.
In early 2007 AIPTEK released a digital camcorder that records in 720p High Definition, called the "Go-HD," which is currently being sold on AIPTEK's website for $249.99. This price was about $400 cheaper than Sanyo's digital 720p model. However, Sanyo's digital HD camcorders have fallen in price over the past few months to match the price of the AIPTEK models.
[edit] Night Vision
AIPTEK also offers budget night vision devices which have fewer advanced features than other night vision products.[1]
[edit] Pen Cams
AIPTEK is believed to have pioneered Pen Cam-style cameras. Such devices can now be found in large department and electronic stores, but are not usually made by AIPTEK.
[edit] Graphics Tablets
AIPTEK also manufactures a range of graphics tablets.
[edit] Support of Internet Communication
AIPTEK is a strong proponent of economical, cost-effective communication, and supports the notion that the quality of life can be advanced through communications over the internet. [2]
AIPTEK claims to have been granted more than 100 international patents [1] and has expressed intentions to become a corporate leader in communications. [2]
[edit] Interpolation Controversy
AIPTEK often advertises some newer cameras with 8 or 12 megapixels -- measurements which are derived from the interpolation of images taken with a prototype camera. The actual image sensor resolution of AIPTEK's budget cameras is closer to 3-5 megapixels.
[edit] Free Gifts
AIPTEK often sells cameras with several free gifts, ranging from extra lithium ion batteries to miniature plush teddybears. Other free items offered include (or have included): digital watches, headphones, wireless camera remote controls, and more.
