[edit] Vandalism

Dear AimLook, why would an earnest contribution from a qualified philologist be referred to as vandalism? --Vladko 09:32, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Go away. I don't have the patience to fight you. --AimLook 10:04, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Actually...

...the image sucks, as well as the whole anti-X concept. I am opposed to any form of anti-X-ism in WP articles because it is inherently POV since it is doomed to be one-sided, so it qualifies as a POVFORK; and since it is bound to be WP:OR, since no serious academic work can focus on this alone without examining the rest. The same applies to Anti-Greek, of course. Anyway, have fun! NikoSilver 08:41, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Slavica

Hi! I see you wrote Slavica (alphabet). But what is the "Original article" in the comment at the bottom? If it was not written by you, you should rewrite the article because right now it is mostly translation of that original article. Nikola 06:09, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Alexander Prilep.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexander Prilep.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

I'm a little confused by Macedonians being a disambiguation page. Which group is involved here? -- 146.115.58.152 12:40, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Macedonian pronouns

Hi, in this article it says "Like nouns, Macedonian pronouns decline for case ('падеж')". I'm pretty sure that nouns don't decline, but I don't know about pronouns. Can you help? Thanks. Alex 202.10.89.28 (talk) 22:50, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Teodosij Gologanov

I've made a few corrections to the article about him (guess what they were). Feel free to revert them, but consider them before launching the article into mainspace. Cheers. --Laveol T 15:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

I hope this is not such a problem as Ivan Gologanov is pretty controversial person - he has been on both sides (no matter whether driven by personal feelings or not) so it sounds pretty fair. --Laveol T 15:47, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pronouns again

Sorry for the hassle, but I'm not confident with my knowledge of Macedonian as a whole - isn't the word for "here" meant to be тука instead of овде? I always thought it was тука/таму and овде/онде but I'm not sure. Alex 202.10.89.28 (talk) 11:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ivan Mihailov

Just one question - why, if as you say you're aiming for NPOV, do you delete quotes from Bulgarian authors and replce them with quotes from Macedonian ones (or rather a Macedonian one)? Shouldnb't there be quotes for both of his self-identifications? That is if as I said you're really aiming for NPOV. --Laveol T 19:03, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re Linguistic question

What's the linguistic term for a naturally evolving spoken variety used by speakers of different dialects (of the same language) to communicate with one another? Please respond on my talk page, thank you. --AimLook (talk) 16:05, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

If i understand well your question, the answer would be diasystem. Francis can correct me if i am wrong. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 16:14, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

That's not exactly what I had in mind. My question specifically relates to the Macedonian language, where speakers of different dialects spoke in a fairly uniform "inter-dialect" (which drew from all dialects and was used between speakers of one and another) prior to the codification of the standard language. --AimLook (talk) 16:31, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Probably Dachsprache, dialect levelling, dialect continuum, heteronomous language?! -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 16:49, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Dachsprache sounds about right. Thank you. --AimLook (talk) 04:24, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Sounds about right aye. - Francis Tyers · 12:31, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Macedonian Language

Hello...

Can you please tell me why you chose to include United Nations in the nations where Macedonian language is an official language? Check those two out List of official languages by institution and United_Nations#Languages.

And, could you please cite a source as to why Albania is included in that list? I like have posted a question on both this article and Albania, but no answers...

And, please, cite sources when you change articles, if those changes are not easy to be checked by English speakers.

I'm a Greek and live in the local Macedonia region, but wouldn't like a flame war or anything.

Heracletus (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah...

Well, you should have used a Balkan language's infobox (Balkan nations' languages' infoboxes always tend to mention those minority language areas :D)

E.g. greek one... |nation = Flag of Greece Greece
Flag of Cyprus Cyprus
Flag of Europe European Union
recognised as minority language in parts of:
Flag of Albania Albania
Flag of Italy Italy

Yet, if it is only one area (Liqenas or Pustec <sarcasm> I like Albanians less than people from ex-YRM </sarcasm>), you should mention that specific area...

Is there possibly a real source as to what is the status in Albania? And, you could expand the liqenas article.

Thanks for your time... Heracletus (talk) 14:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

When you write: |agency = Macedonian Language Institute "Krste Misirkov" at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, you mean they regulate the language or just are the ones who publish the official grammars and dictionaries? Cause, when you say that they regulate the language it suggests that they're like making the "official" language; the one that "is usually considered by speakers of the language to be more "correct" in some sense than other dialects." Standard language

Heracletus (talk) 14:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Why would you go for "regional", instead of minority? I mean "regional" implies that the language has actually been recognised as an official one, much like the status Albanian has in (FY)ROM. That means, that if "Macedonian" really has the status of an official regional language in Albania, then, the infobox of Albania must be changed in the way the Republic of Macedonia's one is, as far as language is considered. Furthermore, it suggests more changes should be made to accord to that change. As far as I'm aware, official languages are specified by laws (de jure), or de facto, if none is specified de jure. Can someone find either a source that cites what the status of "Macedonian" in Albania is, or, at least, can anyone provide the Albanian view on the subject?

FYI, I really don't like Albanians... or the fact they gain rights to every adjacent to Albania land... Heracletus (talk) 06:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, thank you, I didn't mean to trouble you. :P I'm sorry for bugging you that much... With respect, Nikolas Heracletus (talk) 06:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
