[edit] Name?
A dumb question from a stupid Americo-centric who has never heard of this actress: if her stage name is "Aika Miura", why is this article titled "Miura Aika"? -EdgarAllanToe 14:00, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

- In Japan, the names are 'backwards'. The family name comes first and the personal name comes last; like 'Smith John', instead of John Smith. In when speaking about japanese in english, the names are traditionally reversed - I suppose so you wouldn't embarrass yourself by calling Muira Aika 'Ms. Aika'. I believe wikipedia's style manual prefers the japanese name order. Wisco 03:19, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

- Actually, it prefers whichever is most well known - if not well known, stick with original format. In this case, she's far more well known in the English-speaking world as Aika Miura. --Golbez 01:42, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
