[edit] Controversy & Beatrice

On her page, it says:

"For a time it was suggested by Beatrice's father that his daughters would be educated abroad at Aiglon College in Switzerland. Those plans were shelved once the school became embroiled in public controversy."

Now that I have turned to this page, what is the controversy?!? 85.227.226.168 16:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Nonsense. Something to do with drugs maybe. --Counter-revolutionary 18:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

No drugs this time. The school wishes it was so but it was far more serious. Aiglon's headmaster Richard McDonald was arrested and charged with sex offences against children. Mr McDonald, 40, was a pupil at Gordonstoun with the Duke and ran Aiglon on the same principles. And as if that wasn't bad enough then came disclosures, unrelated to the charges facing Mr McDonald, that three girls had been drugged and sexually assaulted in an Aiglon dormitory. After this became known, the Duke of York decided against sending his daughters to Aiglon.
