[edit] Image Tagging Image:Liften SchwaltzMM.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Liften SchwaltzMM.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. cohesiontalk 01:08, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I screen-capped that image from an SNES Rom. I'm sorry about not adding a notion that I capped it.
I'm not that fluent with the advanced rules of Wikipedia yet.... :-)

It looks like the image got deleted already, I was going to change the license to what you said, if you upload it again the correct tag for that would be {{game-screenshot}} Sorry, it got deleted already :( - cohesiontalk 07:37, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Ernest BowmanMM.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ernest BowmanMM.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Unblock editing

Today, I received a message (cannot edit a page due to block) while trying to edit the article Darmok (TNG Episode. I was editing this from my school campus where we have a policy that blocks inappropriate pages. I was planning to edit the article on [1] but it was blocked under the entertainment category. I came to Wikipedia expecting to have access to editing the article in question, but instead showed this message when I tried to edit it:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Pgk for the following reason (see our blocking policy): long term vandalism, multiple 1 month blocks previously Your IP address is 170.76.20.253.

I am not responsible for these acts of vandalism. I do not vandalize. I only add information.

Although, other people on campus use computers. maybe this is the cause. But if not, I would like to have the block removed, please.

Thank you.

UPDATE: It seems the block is only effective on campus. Please disregard the unblock.

When you add comments to a talk page, please help keep things organized by leaving your comments under a heading (enclosed by double equals signs) and don't forget to sign your comments (by typing four tildas in a row). Much appreciated if you would edit the picture talk page to sign the comment you left. Thanks! Robert K S 14:52, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Joan RileMM.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Joan RileMM.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:49, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Sergeant KraftMM.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Sergeant KraftMM.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
