AI (born November 2, 1981, real name Ai Carina Uemura (植村 愛 Uemura Ai Carina?)) is a Japanese singer. She was born in the U.S. city of Los Angeles to a Japanese father and half-Japanese, half-Italian mother. Because of her Father's work AI traveled between Los Angeles and Japan. AI has appeared as a dancer in Janet Jackson's music video "Go Deep". AI debuted with label BMG to release three singles and one album. In 2003 AI moved on to sign with hip hop label Def Jam Japan, their first female artist. On 7 July 2007, AI performed at the Japanese leg of Live Earth in Tokyo.

- Ai's 13th single, "Believe," is a song in Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, the sequel to the Nintendo DS rhythm game, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan.
- Ai went to school at The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts for dance. She graduated in 2000 and was a classmate with fellow celebrity alumni, Josh Groban who graduated in 1999.
- Ai's song Brand new Day shares the same background tracking and beat as Corbin Bleu's Marchin'.
