[edit] Intresting Ayyavazhi Family

Hai Ahrvojic, there are intresting articles about Ayyavazhi, a new religion on both mythology and religiosity. Wikipedia is rich with this topic in English, but poor in other languages. Since french is a leading language in Wikipedia it is better to translate the contents on this AYYAVAZHI family to french. - Paul Raj

[edit] Names and languages

So you're second generation, mm? I salute you for learning your language. It is far too scarce a habit.

About Croatia and "ethnic cleansing," you are essentially right, in the following complex way, I think: if the Croats "ethnically cleansed," then the Bosnian Serbs committed genocide. --VKokielov 19:11, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! Yes, I was born in Toronto, but most of my family resides in Croatia and so my ties there are very strong. As for recent Croatian history, war is war. I acknowledge that individual crimes were committed in the liberation of the country as they have been in every war on every side throughout history, but there's a huge difference between that and a state policy of genocide, which is what I felt was being implied by the recent edits. I was concerned my revisions would be interpreted as whitewashing, but Wikipedia is one of the few places where we can actually defend ourselves in the Anglosphere, which is traditionally unsympathetic towards Croatia and the former Austro-Hungarian Empire in general. --AHrvojic 17:23, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Franjo_Tudjman.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Franjo_Tudjman.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

[edit] Independent State of Croatia

Please, avoid changing the article without any valid explanation. Also, bear in mind that Pavelic's "Dr" title is actually "doctor juris" (honoric) title which is not equivalent to today's "PhD".

Also, Pavelic was Poglavnik for his Ustasi. For all other people - just brigand, Nazi collaborator, nobody.--Purger 22:45, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I just changed a couple things to be more encyclopedic; the things you mention weren't my edits. --AHrvojic 00:04, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Greater Serbian propaganda

I just want to inform you that a number of name-changing Serbian propagandists (the above "Purger" & similar folx) are spreading virulent anti-Croat hatred on the en wiki, spamming/heaping unverified material (lies, half-truths and ordinary calumny one easily finds in Serbian propagandist stuff). Not to be confused with valuable Serbian contributors (Millosh, Pokrajac etc.), there is no point in arguing with these psychos. This is an on-line encyclopdia, not a therapeutic primal scream-room. Mir Harven 15:59, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I've since noticed that they've managed to cast a pretty wide net over the last couple months and the frustration level is getting higher as it's becoming harder to clean up the more subtle and entrenched nonsense. --AHrvojic 20:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
I always wonder: what kind of wasted life it is, to devote oneself to the Internet logorrhea centred on some imagined Croatian diabolical sadists ? OK, just a rhetorical question...Mir Harven 20:34, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Hah, I find it hard to grasp as well. I guess there's always going to be those obsessed with building their own version of the world rather than trying to understand the real one. One troll in particular has been vandalizing the same article (Tourism in Croatia) for weeks now and I have no idea where they get the energy! --AHrvojic 01:50, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Probably a welfare beneficiary. Plenty of time, no other interests. Round and round and .. Mir Harven 22:24, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Speak of the devil, we've got a removal of Croatian cultural heritage at Boka. I also suggest that you go easy on your words; there are many "eyes" in here. --HolyRomanEmperor 21:57, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I think you might want to add the page about Croats to your watch-list. It has become very popular. EurowikiJ 16:03, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Wow, I can't believe I didn't have that article on my watchlist! Thanks! --AHrvojic 19:03, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal:Croats and other things

You didn't have Croats on your watchlist, lol. :D

Anyways, I would like to inform you that Portal:Croats has just been created - and it's nothing more than a mere shell, so desperate help is needed.

I would dispute your Chetnik intervention. I know that the Chetniks were a right-wing Serbian guerrila corps in World War II, but they cannot be blaimed for the Bleiburg massacre or the several similiar massacres. The Partisans, on the other hand, are claimed to have executed between 50,000 and 250,000 Ustashas and those acused to be connected to them. --HolyRomanEmperor 19:59, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

That's great and I'm looking forward to helping out!
As for the intervention, if you mean the Croats article, I just copyedited and must've overlooked that part. What you say makes sense to me. --AHrvojic 23:51, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
OK. I'm still new at these Portals, so I'm just copying the Russian and the Portal:Serbs. We could use the design for the Portal:Croats. --HolyRomanEmperor 11:26, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Croatian Wikiproject

Hello, AHrvojic. As one of the more knowledgeable editors of Croatian topics, I was wondering if you would join a Croatian Wikiproject if I were to create one. If I can get a couple people on board, I'd definately like to put a project together. Thanks. (By the way, this is a copy/paste of what I sent Mir Harven :P, you're both doing some swell work.) --Thewanderer 16:28, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks very much! I'd definitely be interested in joining :) --AHrvojic 23:57, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
If you're still up for it, here it is: WikiProject Croatia. --Thewanderer 18:37, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mostssa

Hello. I have just reported the vandal for transgressing the 3RR rule. If you feel there is any need to post a comment there or share your views in order to clarify the situation, feel free to do so.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/3RR

EurowikiJ 18:21, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

I have just checked the page, and the vandal has been blocked for 24 hours. EurowikiJ 20:49, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Good stuff. That guy just won't give up. --AHrvojic 02:49, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zadar Kristallnacht (sic)

A page dedicated to exchanging views on the proposed deletion of the article has been opened on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Zadar_Kristallnacht

Medula's sockpuppet Purger is naturally spearheading the no-campaign. Not surprisingly he has even created a special account (Nemanyya) to attract the Serbian contributors. EurowikiJ 12:02, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

Anthony, from what I've seen, I have a strange feeling your edits are very biased. How do you respond to such accusations? --Boris Malagurski 06:07, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

This is just a hobby; I don't have to respond to anything. I do my best to be fair, but I'm only human and I can't know everything. Most of my edits as of late unfortunately have been reverts of obvious propaganda or unsubstantiated claims and one does not have to be omniscient or feel strongly about something to recognize it as such. --AHrvojic 03:12, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Concerning Ante Starcevic, do you honestly think he liked Jews and Serbs? Or is there another reason why you are reverting edits where his quotes are stated? --Boris Malagurski 04:01, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Ah, ok, you should've mentioned that's the article you're concerned about. I'm reverting those edits simply because even if he did espouse those views, they shouldn't take up the vast majority of the article. It's just too disproportionate and one-dimensional. I'm definitely not against including them if they're well documented--the article should be honest after all--but a situation where less than a third of the article is about the man and his life in general and the rest focuses on his alleged anti-semitism and anti-Serbism isn't very fair (Starcevic wasn't Hitler, after all). Look, aside from some obvious trolling by a certain user and his numerous sockpuppets, the regulars working on the Croatia-related articles are very reasonable and I'm sure some sort of compromise can be achieved. --AHrvojic 04:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree that info about his anti-semitic writings shouldn't take up the majority of the page. But the way to solve the problem is to add more text about his life in general, and not just delete all of the text containing info about his political ideology. I also agree that we should reach some sort of compromise about the article instead of just reverting each other, so I changed the part of the article where his political ideology is described. Even though it is confirmed he was very anti-Serb and anti-Jewish, now the article states that most Historians claim he was all of those things (even though he wrote books about all of that himself). So, in order to ease tensions, I did hide some facts that are 100% true (don't take my word for it, go to any library) in order to stop the reverting war which is really getting on my nerves. If you have further suggestions or comments, feel free to contact me on my user talk page. --Boris Malagurski 04:33, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I don't know what to do

Serb vandal Bormalagurski has asked his pro-Serb admin friends to help him, spamming talk pages with trolling and personal attacks, protecting the page and contrary to all rules blocking users who revert such Serb vandalism and personal attacks on their own talk page. He posted a "warning" threatening me with being "blocked for disruption" because I voted against his admin candidacy, and he and others have engaged in revert war to keep the Malagurski trolling on the user talk page. For example he also wrote on the talk page "Allow me to make an impersonation of you: Serbs are guilty for everything. All Croats are saints. I love my pope, who let's me get away with everything. I'm so Serbophobic that I can't even allow Serbian posts on my user page. That's why I voted for the deletion of the article "Serbophobia", because it doesn't exist." [1]. They are also conspiring to enforce their POV. See "User:Croatian Historian" and "Revert war" at User_talk:Bormalagurski, as well as User_talk:Purrger (one of their sockpuppet accounts) for some evidence (lots more may be found). They use large numbers of sock puppets. I don't know what to do. Admin candidacy of Bormalagurski failed for obvious reasons, but it seems some people like him were able to get enough votes. This is a very serious problem for those who oppose the massive Serb nationalist vandalism on dozens of articles and Greater Serbian anti-Croatian propaganda articles.

Oh, and also, say hi to Croatian historian for me. Even though I'm half Croatian, and personally have nothing against Croats, I do have something against Croatian nationalists like "Croatian historian". He claims that I want to block him just because he voted against my admin. candidacy, even though I didn't warn anyone else who voted against me (all 16 people). Obviously, he hates my guts because I'm a Serb (actually, half-Serb, half-Croat... which makes it even more absurd to call me a nationalist). Also, I want to deny that I write Greater Serbian anti-Croatian propaganda articles, if you look at my contributions, I mostly leave messages on talk pages and discuss articles, instead of editing them. So, just before you believe everything he told you, I would like to paint a more realistic picture of the situation that he is in (warned and blocked several times), so my advice is to distance yourself from him, trust me, you'll be glad you did. --Boris Malagurski 04:40, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

It seems to me that you are acting in an uncivil manner. Please remain civil and don't resort to making personal attacks or instigate edit wars.

[edit] Tudjman article

Would you please be so kind not to resort to personal attacks and to work on improving the article on Tudjman, rather than reverting. It is highly biased article - stating things which are contraversial as facts, speaking of pan-Serbism etc. Removing quotes hardly helps. Please work on the article, you seem to be more reasonable than users like Mir Harven or Croatian Historian, I am sure a satisfactory version can be worked out. Mylan 07:51, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

First of all, I haven't made any personal attacks and reverting an article does not necessarily imply that I think it's fine the way it is. The Tudjman article does need work, but unfortunately it's also among the most difficult to work on here, especially considering that it deals mostly with relatively recent (and sensitive) history. As for your edits, I'm sorry but they aren't exactly neutral either and therefore do not improve things. This is an article that one needs to be conservative with if it's to move forward. --AHrvojic 02:34, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
calling people vandals when you have different POV is a personal assault. I was certainly not vandalising the page (see WP:Vandalism) - in fact, I have added quite a few quotes. The only POV thing that is there in my edit might be his holocaust denial - or perhaps there are some other things that you disagree with - but instead of reverting, you can change those things like I did when I changed and NPOV-ed panSerbian statements. Anyway, I agree it is a contraversial topic, but then it is a reason to work on article, and those who do and disagree with you are not to be called vandals. Mylan 03:15, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I see what you're talking about--I'm pretty sure the 'vandalism' part of my 'rv vandalism' message was auto-completed by my browser since that's not what I intended, though I still stand by the revert. Unfortunately there's simply been too much trolling on the Croatia-related articles over the last few months, meaning that new contributions have to be that much better for other users to accept them. You can't simply rewrite entire paragraphs with such heavily controversial claims--that's why your edits are being reverted. --AHrvojic 06:43, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template

This user is a member of WikiProject Croatia.

Hey, I made a template for everyone who's a part of this project! Put it on your user page, maybe more people will join when they see how cool it would look on their page!!! --M.B. 01:06, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Very nice! --AHrvojic 03:28, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you! :-) --M.B. 02:50, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:WikiMB

Just a short note to let you know that User:WikiMB is, in all likelyhood, another account that has been opened by User:Bormalagurski. Given the number of his edits and the approach he is using he is probably aiming at eventually getting adminship at Wikipedia which User:Bormalagurski failed to secure on a couple of attempts for all the known reasons. Needless to say, this would have interesting consequences on our efforts to maintain articles related to Croatia. I had suspected this for some time, but I didn't have any proof until yesterday (April 2) when User:Bormalagurski made a mistake of deleting a Luka Jačov's comment left on User:WikiMB's discussion under Re:Template. Luka Jačov appeared 5 minutes after this deletion and left a slightly modified comment. Pretty interesting tempering with another user's page on the part of User:Bormalagurski. Of course, User:WikiMB re-appeared 5 minutes later as if nothing had happened to add another PR remark. For more info check WB's history page]. EurowikiJ 12:18, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

This is a follow-up on the note that I have left above. The administrator on the check-user page has decided not to conduct a check on the User:Bormalagurski and User:WikiMB. Though my claim was based on a chain of strange edits that took place on WikiMB's discussion page on April 2 and certainly not on any editing pattern, the administrator concluded that "Just from looking at the contributions I find it unlikely that these two are sockpuppets of one another; they appear to me to be distinct editors.". Hence, the request was denied and the accounts in question were not checked. For User:Bormalagurski and User:WikiMB's reaction(s) and arguments, please see the entry at Request for Check User page, WikiMB's and my talk pages. EurowikiJ 09:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reporting Medule

Please support my complaint against Medule's unnaceptable behaviour here. Thanks! --Dr.Gonzo 17:10, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nin, Croatia

Nin, Croatia. Thank you for taking note of my oversight, and thank you for asking. I fixed the Dab. You might like to know how (since the Dab looked only slightly familiar, after a month!) i found it: special pages (from toolbox); select "Logs" from list. There are other ways:

  1. An admin can look at the Rdr that i deleted (so i could put the pre-existing Dab page in place of it).
  2. WP search function
  3. Google search restricted using
    site:Wikipedia.org
  4. Slog thru my contribs to get back to that date, and look at what i did around the same time.
  5. Slog thru your own contribs to when you last worked on it, where the entry now appears with the new title.
  6. If you have a check, in your preferences, next to automatic watchlisting of articles you edit, click on "display and edit the complete list" on your "My watchlist" page, and the new title would also appear there, in alpha order.

But your direct approach (ask the jerk who messed it up!) is a good one. [smile]
Thanks again -- i hate leaving loose ends.

[edit] Stop removing content

Please refrain from removing content from Wikipedia, as you did to Tourism in Croatia. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Primadol 10:05, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Your persistent inflammatory edits through this account and your many others can hardly be called "content". --AHrvojic 17:46, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
version that is from POV other than yours is not inflamatory on basis of that. Also, I would like to remind you of civility standards here. Primadol 19:28, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Reverting to a previous version doesn't automatically mean that it reflects my point of view; it means that your edits problematic beyond the ability to reasonably integrate them into the existing text. You might be taken more seriously if you weren't a such a persistent troll and sockpuppeteer, so don't lecture me on Wikipedia policy. --AHrvojic 20:33, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Your insults are quite outrageous. I will continue to revert Croatian trolls, and will alert other people of your activity. Primadol 10:13, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Medule

Please see the contributions of User:Medule. I have managed to protect the Tourism in Croatia, but he's doing the same thing with Dalmatia, History of Croatia, Borovo Selo raid and several others. I have reported him, but caution is needed. Regards! --HolyRomanEmperor 19:09, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! I suspect little is happening on the admin front since a lot of outsiders seem to believe that no one associated with the ex-Yu can be trusted to present anything even remotely impartial and so they take a hands-off approach and tolerate even the most ridiculous stretching of reason in the name of "balance". --AHrvojic 03:35, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alojzije Stepinac

I have a question for you referring to the article about Alojzije Stepinac. The edit war is going on, but I would like to know more facts. I know that he is often called martyr (mučenik). I also know that technicly speaking his death was "natural", but there was a suspission of poisoning and it was also reasonable to suspect that lack of proper medical treatment accelerated his death. But I am interested in an official statement of the Catholic Church. Do you have any information on this? Any links, sources etc. Regards, Jasra 21:38, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I don't have any additional information unfortunately, but I can try to find some when I get a chance. Joy may be able to help. --AHrvojic 03:42, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
