Ahoko

The Ahoko is a traditional percussion instrument originating from the central part of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in Africa. The ahoko is a wooden rod with nutshells tied to strings which are then tightly wound around the end of the rod. The percussive sound can range from quiet to very loud.
A research on Ahoko is in progress with the vocal group DOMINATION in Côte d'Ivoire. In the term of this research, a written document can light the musicians who wanted to know more about it.
