Anthony Hannigan was born in Baltimore, MD. Was raised in Pa and West Virginia. Born into a musical family, it was destiny for Anthony to fall into his success with his music.

He is 1999 National Mandolin Champion. This is a very prestigious award and is very rare for a first time entry to win. The tunes of choice that day where Rawhide, Dill Pickle Rag, Alabama Jubilee and Sweet Georgia Brown.

Founder of the New-Acoustic Group, Hickory Project. The group was founded in 1999 with co-founder, Sue Cunningham. The Hickory Project also features David Cavage, Steve Belcher, Dan Shipe and William Gilmore.

Anthony co-founder of Hickory Fest, Music in the Mountains along with Cunnnngham and Belcher.

An early pioneer of on-line free music lessons via Music Moose. Co-founder of the very hip musical group, Borderdrive, that he fronts with Jillian Brosnan
