Agustín Hernandez

Agustín Hernandez (born Agustín Hernandez Navarro on February 29th, 1924 in Mexico City) is a Mexican architect. Son of politician Lamberto Hernandez and Amalia Navarro, he is the brother of choreographer Amalia Hernandez, architect Lamberto Hernandez, Delfina Hernandez and Gabriela Hernandez. He studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, earning his degree in 1954, where he's been giving lectures for some time. The leading exponent of "emotional" architecture, Hernandez has fused elements from Mexico's Pre-columbian past in his contemporary architecture. He has stated to normally start by designing the stairs of the building/house as he feels these are of much importance.
