Agrocybe is a genus of mushrooms, some which are poisonous. The edible mushrooms of the species are not easy to identify and it is safer to avoid the entire genus when mushroom hunting for consumption.
The species Agrocybe aegerita, known as Chestnut mushroom or Velvet pioppino (chinese: 茶樹菇), is cultivated and sold in Japan, Korea, and Australia.
The species Agrocybe farinacea grows in Japan and contains the hallucinogen psilocybin.
