Agriculture in Bhutan has a mojor role in the economy of the country.[1] In 2000, agriculture accounted for 35.9% of GDP of Bhutan.[1] Major crops cultivated in Bhutan are maize and rice.[1] Maize accounts for 49% of total domestic cereal cultivation, and rice accounts for 43%.[1]
