Agoura High School is a four-year high school, freshman-senior, in Agoura Hills, California, United States. It is the largest high school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District, with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. In Newsweek's poll of the best high schools in the United States, Agoura High School ranked 1173[1], 1008[2], 900[3] and 744[4] in the 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2003 polls, respectively.

Graduation from Agoura High School requires 230 total credits (most classes earn five credits per semester). Specifically,
- Math - 20 credits
- Science - 20 Credits
- Social Science - 35 credits
- Physical Education - 20 credits
- English - 40 credits
- Health - 5 credits
- Foreign Language/Fine Art or Practical Art (2 of 3) - 20 credits
- Electives - 70 credits
In addition, all students must successfully pass the California High School Exit Exam.

The standard A, B, C, D, F scale is used with +'s and -'s awarded. GPA's are calculated using the standard A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0 scale for regular classes and A=5, B=4, C=3, D=1, F=0 scale for selected honors/AP classes (usually courses that meet UC a-g requirements).

In 2005, 341 students took 564 AP exams with a 78% passing rate (score of 3, 4, or 5). Approximately two-thirds of AHS seniors take the SAT exams. The mean score in 2005, on the old 1600 scale was 1178.
[edit] Advancement to Higher Education Institutions
Over the past 10 years, the total number of graduates going on to 2-year and 4-year institutions rose from 95% to 98% with 42% attending 2-year schools and 56% attending 4-year universities.

Agoura High also has rivals. Agoura's biggest rival in football is Westlake High.

Agoura High School has an acclaimed music program directed by John Mosley and Chad Bloom.
In 2008, the Agoura High music program continues to move forward with much success in all areas of the department. The mixed choir was recently selected out of 30 LA County choirs to perform as a showcase choir in the LA Master Choral High School Festival at Disney Hall. The school's "Studio Jazz Ensemble" was selected to perform at the Savannah Music Festival, receiving 3rd place. The "Jazz A" band has been selected to compete at the Essentially Ellington High School Competition in NYC, extending Agoura's representation at that festival to a 5th consecutive year. In addition to the ensemble accomplishments at Agoura in 2008, the music program has seen acceptances into Juilliard and The Royal Academy Of Music.

AHS has a large administrative staff. This includes a Principal, 3 Assistant Principals, 6 full-time counselors, a registrar, an office manager, more than 5 office secretaries, 3 full-time activities/athletics support staff, an athletic director, and a plant manager.
