The commune extends into the valley of Beauronne, it is located 12 km north of Périgueux.

The settlements "Borie-Vieille" and "Les Cadagnes". In the 11th century, the village was to be built on a hill containing valleys with difficult access and built four fourtresses and protected the area from the Norman invasions.
