[edit] Rollback
Hello AGK,
I just wanted to ask what would be the best time for me to request rollback again. STYROFOAM1994Don't age bias me! 17:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Test Wikipedia
Just letting you know. Cheers. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 00:50, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Got your message ;) Thanks much! AGK (contact) 12:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Your welcome. Sorry for just now replying. I am not very active on weekends. Cheers. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 02:38, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
I just wanted to say I really appreciated what you said on my OTRS request. :) Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 20:01, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just speaking the truth ;) Hopefully it's enough to push you through, and you can get cracking on the backlogs! All the best, AGK (contact) 20:41, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Apologies for rollback
I apologise for using rollback on your last couple of edits given they were not vandalism, but I don't think they were a good idea. As you know it is my practice to give at least 48 hours notice before I close nominations to join the Committee, and hasty closes have caused problems in the past. There is no rush - lets make sure everyone has had their say... WjBscribe 18:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Apologies, Will—it was not my intention to manoeuvre around standard Committee practice, nor to act in your 'stead. Plus, no need to apologise for using rollback ;) More efficient! I'll leave the final closure to you. All the best, AGK (contact) 18:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Help with wiki code
Hi, I've been trying out some wiki code I've learnt recently in my sandbox and I was hoping for some help with the image linking I'm doing. As you can see in the bottom right there is a refresh image, I have been trying to make it purge the server cache (which refreshes the page) using {{fullurl:{{PAGENAME}}&action=purge}} which is effectively http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Jazza/Sandbox&action=purge which is wrong. How can I make it /w/ instead of /wiki/ in the url? --General Jazza (talk) 18:04, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- If you use [{{fullurl:{{PAGENAME}}|action=purge}}], note the "|", then it should work ;) AGK (contact) 18:06, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- A further two things. Firstly, I've implemented your desired change into the sandbox, and it now works. Secondly, you should use {{FULLPAGENAME}}, which places the full page into the template, rather than PAGENAME, which only places the text "General Jazza/Sandbox", minus the User:-, into the template. All the best, AGK (contact) 18:08, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot my friend :) --General Jazza (talk) 18:12, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again but I've got another question, for some reason the refresh box area which can be clicked is extended down infinitely and covers the links I have put below it, would you mid having a look and seeing what I've done wrong? Many thinks :) --General Jazza (talk) 18:45, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's my fault—it should actually be "action=purge", not "&action=purge", in the above example. AGK (contact) 18:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot :D --General Jazza (talk) 19:03, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] My RfB
Not here to spam, just to thank you for your kind words, awkward questions and wonderful support throughout my recent RfB which passed successfully with (133/4/3). Thanks for everything.. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:53, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- My pleasure, and sorry if I put you under pressure with those questions :) AGK (contact) 21:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Quick Question
I was just wondering how exactly to make my signature bold.... thanks Stealth500 (talk) 21:55, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Open your preferences, and in the "signature" box, enter the following text:
-
[[User:Stealth500|'''Stealth 500''']] ([[User talk:Stealth500|talk]])
-
- Then, check the box "raw signature", and save your preferences. That should do it ;) AGK (contact) 21:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks AGK, you rock! :) Stealth 500 (talk) 23:04, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Warofdreams
Dude, check [1]. He's in both. Now he's in BOR twice ......... Pedro : Chat 23:20, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed. I'd tweaked the administrator category, rather than the Bureaucrat :) Cheers, Pedro! AGK (contact) 23:21, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Inquiry from yesterday
Hi,
I noticed that you archived my inquiry from yesterday. Can I assume you've reached a decision to leave things alone? Thanks for your attention. Jd2718 (talk) 01:18, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- At the present time, yes. I can see that M1rth is making progress, and I don't think there's a serious problem here. I have issued a final caution to him, as seen on User talk:M1rth, and I hope that he will continue to abide by that. Of course, if the conduct takes a turn for the worse, then I am willing to consider damage-limitation measures, but until then, I think he's making some good contributions, and it would not be a good course of action, in this situation, to prevent those. All the best, to both you and M1rth, AGK (contact) 18:35, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Just checking in
Just checking in on how earlier discussions are progressing. M1rth (talk) 17:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Regarding the investigation into conduct, it's not yet started; in fact, I might need to catch you on IRC (#cometstyles, again?). With regards to the concerns regarding conduct, as expressed earlier, and the subsequent request for my looking into your conduct: my reply is above. Regards, AGK (contact) 18:36, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] VandalSniper
Hello AGK, I have currently applied for the VandalSniper usage. The application page stated to inform you. Hope I didn't bother you. Zenlax T C S 19:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NICE job, bro.
That temporary block notice of yours is utterly first-class. Just freaking beautiful. I've become kind of crusty when it comes to dealing with vandalism of this site and I assure you that I am anything but in real life. I prefer to deal with people in much the same way your notice does. You restored my faith in poor old Wikipedia. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:19, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

- I am glad you liked it! I simply prefer to use a more rehabilitation-based approach, rather than slapping a generic template on them, if possible, although I do confess to using the default templates once in a while. Anyway, have a nice day ;) All the best, AGK § 07:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Closing my RfA
I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I wouldn't have minded my RfA being closed early, though now I am sure it will be closed soon since the time is almost up. If it is still open when you see this message feel free to close it. When I have the time I will seek another admin coach so that I can have some different guidance and a fresh perspective. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 01:59, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Closed, and notification placed on your talk page. Thanks for getting back to me. Regards, AGK § 07:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Naerii
- Naerii (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log)
Any chance you could go back and look at unblocking Naerii? His edits in my opinion are in no way block worthy, and he has a significant edit history with an earlier account. True, some of his recent edits were bordering on trolling, but I don't agree with your assessment that he has a net negative impact on the encyclopedia. Ryan Postlethwaite 18:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- I too think this block is excessive, and strongly suggest you review the necessity of an indefinite block here. She has a long history of positive contributions to the project, and a single spate of disruptive activity should only merit an initial block of a day or two at most, if at all. krimpet✽ 19:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry folks, I opened an ANI thread before seeing your messages: I was sure I saved it earlier, but when navigating back to the tab, it hadn't. I simply don't see any helpful contributions on this editor's part. Then again, you guys seem more acquainted with the specifics of the case, so I'm very willing to take your views on board. Having said that, the editor has recently been disruptive, and I definitely think a damage-limitation block is necessary... Thoughts? AGK § 19:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Edit-conflicted
Thanks for getting to it. Rudget. 21:02, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I thought you'd forgotten to tag it, or I'd have left it to you ;) Well, no worries! AGK § 21:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your support. - J Greb (talk) 22:55, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Naerii
Are 30 second audio clips against the Wikipedia policies? According to Naerii, they are. He doesn't like the fact that I posted links to a thirty second clip of Death Cab for Cutie's upcoming single, I Will Possess Your Heart. I would appreciate clarification. Maybe he's being disruptive again. --Niro87 (talk) 00:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Is everything I do going to be questioned now? The clip in question is one that was ripped from Amazon and uploaded to imeem after Amazon removed the clip when they realised they'd mistakenly released it. Admin Rudget agreed with me and blocked one of the people repeatedly inserting it [2]. I provided a policy based explanation on the talk page and people agreed with me. I also said I wasn't going to get into an edit war over it. Sheesh. -- Naerii · plz create stuff 12:31, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- The Death Cab clip is against policy: they're a recent band, and I wouldn't imagine they own anything less than full copyright on their songs, meaning a clip from any of their productions would be against policy. To answer your question, Niro, Naerii is correct: in cases such as this, where copyright is held on the file, yes, it is against Wikipedia policy. You may wish to review Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright and Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. Regards, AGK § 16:56, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Riana's request for bureaucratship
Dear Anthony, thank you for taking part in my RfB. As you may know, it was not passed by bureaucrats. |
- My pleasure, Riana. You know my thoughts on your RfB, and that I'll support you in the future as well. AGK § 16:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Block?
So I was doing some edits yesterday and I noticed that I now have the block button. I then do a bit of work and I notice that I see a button that says Block Logs (located here). SO I am wondering what this does, how to use it etc.
I know that when I have been reverting some edits there are some that the warnings make it enough for a temporary block (I think) however I don't know what to do. Thanks Stealth (talk) 14:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
