[edit] The Ohio State University Marching Band copyvio sd
Please reconsider your decision to decline speedy deletion of this page. Not only is the plagiarism of copyrighted material obvious, it's blatant. Take another look at the page and the material on this site and you'll see what I'm talking about. Groupthink (talk) 07:13, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for contacting me. I have reconsidered, and I stand by my decision that the circumstances on which you have made your speedy deletion request are not blatant enough for me to correctly grant your requst. I suggest you take the request to Articles for Deletion, in order to gain further consensus: I am not advocating the article be kept - simply that a G12 speedy request is not obviously a violation in this case. - Indeed, I'll be on then, just going to get my (late) breakfast. Qst 12:20, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your block
I strongly urge you to reconsider your block of the whole 89.1.0.0 range. In general, I don't think blocking a whole ISP's range because of one person is warranted. I noticed this block because a user on the Hebrew Wikipedia mentioned it. If you disagree, I will take it to WP:AN. Yonatan talk 13:17, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Where you the user that emailed me regarding this? If so, I replied to you (check your email ;) regarding the block, it's been a while, so I've as a courtesy lifted the range block (which are notoriously easy to muck up, so apologies!) Regards, Anthøny 13:21, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adminship
Hey Anthony, thanks for your suggestion regarding adminship. I would certainly be amenable to wielding the "mop-and-bucket", and would be honoured to accept a nomination at RfA if you were so inclined. Thanks for noticing me! Take care, --Canley (talk) 00:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Great, I'll whip up an RfA and link you to it soon ;) Anthøny 17:16, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, in answer to your questions:
- No, I've used the same account since I joined.
- I tend to be an analyser, rather than a doer, so things requiring quick action or decisions are difficult for me. That also means I err on the side of caution but I think I could be a bit bolder.
- Sure, would be happy to. I have been very active in AfD and Recent Changes Patrol, but have been concentrating on writing a bit more in the past few months.
- I can use it, but I hardly ever do. To be honest, all I've used it for is to check the status of Wikipedia when the servers seem to be down.
- --Canley (talk) 00:18, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, in answer to your questions:
Hi Anthony, just letting you know I've gratefully accepted your nomination for adminship, and answered the questions at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Canley. I'll keep an eye out for any supplementary questions, and thanks for your work in getting the process started. Regards, Canley (talk) 23:21, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] RfA thanks
Dear AGK/Archive, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind support on my request for adminship which succeeded with a final result of (72/19/6).
Now that I am a sysop, do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you have. I would be glad to help you along with the other group of kind and helpful administrators.
Thank you again and I look forward to editing alongside you in the future. — E talk 12:28, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Johnny Hockin
Hello, AGK/Archive ... I am curious as to why you declined the {{Db-author}}
on Johnny Hockin (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) ... if you compare the article with the User page for the author, johnnyhockin (talk · contribs), it's obvious that it violates WP:AUTO, and the only other substantive edits were made by indefinitely blocked user Jamierush (talk · contribs) ... Happy Editing! —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 21:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- There are also additional edits by other users (IP addresses, at least three other Wikipedians). According to the criterion set out at WP:CSD#G7, I cannot delete that article per CSD G7. Anthøny 21:15, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I was one of those IPs, adding tags to it like
{{Articleissues}}
and the{{Prod}}
(which I have amended to include more complaints), and another editor reverted edits by a blocked user ... since the subject of the article has seen the error of their ways, why wait the five days to delete it? —72.75.72.63 (talk) 21:23, 28 December 2007 (UTC)- It almost sounds as if you want an article to be deleted :) I've declined the speedy request without prejudice... That means that I am absolutely open to a deletion under AfD. But why rush through the removal of another user's work? Anthøny 21:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- What can I say ... I believe that violation of Wikipedia:Autobiography should be a reason for speedy deletion :-) ... but if Some Other Editor removes the PROD, then I'll take it to AfD ... Happy Editing! —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 22:04, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR block for Eurocopter tigre (talk · contribs)
He's only made three edits to the page, so it wouldn't seem that he'd broken the 3RR, per se; and it doesn't appear that this was part of a general set of blocks on everyone involved. Am I off-base with the current sentiment on the interpretation of the 3RR? Kirill 18:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I made the block for edit warring, rather than for a technical 3RR violation, to put a stem to disruption on the article. It's also been protected, I see, and the other parties blocked by other administrators. He's also been blocked several times for 3RR violations and/or edit warring on articles. Anthøny 22:01, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Just a quick note: if you will look carefully at my block log you'll see that I was only once blocked for breaking the 3RR or for edit warring, not "several times" as you erroneusly stated. --Eurocopter tigre (talk) 13:43, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Just wanted to let you know
I responded to what you asked on my Green Kirby 2 talk page. Please read it and try to understand it. You don't have to accept it, just understand it. And please don't block me for saying this on your talk page. I would'nt do this if it was'nt important.69.131.155.237 (talk) 23:34, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- You're not actually disrupting Wikipedia... Why would I block you? :) Anyway, I seen the message (don't worry, I'll notice it through my watchlist) and I've replied there. Cheers, Anthøny 23:36, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- It does'nt matter if I'm disrupting Wikipedia or not. I'm a blocked user right now. Anyway, thanks for understanding. In the future, I will be a real good help. I just have to wait 2 more months.69.131.155.237 (talk) 01:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please help with more improvements
AGK, thanks for recently closing a featured portal candidacy. I look forward to your continued efforts to help improve Wikipedia's portal namespace. Along those lines, I am asking for your help. Please take a look at the portal peer review for Contents and megaportals. Just like featured portal candidate reviews, it is a part of a larger portal namespace improvement drive. All of your comments, suggestions and participation in this improvement effort will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, RichardF (talk) 15:41, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Interesting... I've been active on Portals before, with two of them featured, but never on the reviewing process. I'll probably check in at some point, and see how it goes :-) Anthøny (talk) 15:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, I noticed you expressed interest in the Birmingham meetup last October. Just letting you know, another UK meetup is in planning stages, here. We need input on where and when we will meet so comments would be much appreciated. Thanks. Majorly (talk) 16:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mac OS X (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Thanks for stepping to stop an edit war that ended 20 hours ago. AlistairMcMillan (talk) 18:59, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- As I stated in my messages, I'm trying to get the involved users onto dispute resolution, not try and stop a current edit war. My warnings were in the case of close-future edit war. Your sarcasm is unwarranted. Anthøny 19:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry but I think my sarcasm is very warranted. A "final warning" after making a grand total of one edit in an "edit war"? Did anyone ask for administrator intervention here? Did you notice that the last edit in the "edit war" was almost a day ago? Is blocking edits to the article for 20 days really warranted? AlistairMcMillan (talk) 19:04, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm more than willing to lift the protection, so long as the warring isn't resumed immediately after... Yes, I did notice the last edit was a while ago. Anthøny 19:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Then please lift the protection. The edit warring had already ceased long before you protected the article. AlistairMcMillan (talk) 19:09, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've lifted the protection. I hope this resolves your query. Anthøny 19:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I got the same warning however I am kinda confused exactley what it meant. Can you clarify? thanks. --Talk to Stealth500 (talk) 20:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Interesting. Three users editing on the same article complain about a rather routine edit warring warning within an hour... To answer your query, I refer to your edit warring at the Mac OS X article (e.g., this revert). Anthøny 21:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- No i mean what does it mean..... am I in trouble? --Talk to Stealth500 (talk) 23:05, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're not "in trouble", no :) just refrain from edit warring in future, and discuss your differences with other parties if they revert your change, rather than forcing it through again via rollback. Anthøny 01:09, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- oh ok, I hadn't realized I even was lol. Sorry. I won't in the future. --Talk to Stealth500 (talk) 01:57, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
