[edit] Happy Birthday!
Even though it's a little late (or very early). Hope you enjoyed it! Qst 18:15, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Cheers, Qst! It was on Tuesday :) Anthøny 18:17, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] range block?
Hi. I saw your note regarding a range block, but he's still posting from 82.166.xxx.xxx addresses: just today, he used 82.166.234.226, for example. Thanks, Dyanega (talk) 22:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Were they the ones that I blocked? If so, I'll need to expand the range of the RB... Anthøny 22:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I can't see any other blocks that you issued besides the original set on Nov. 27th, each of which was for a single IP number - they're all in the 82.166.xxx.xxx or 89.1.xxx.xxx sets, but I don't see any subsequent blocks you've issued that cover those as a group, unless it wouldn't show up in your contribs listing - the dynamic IP thing is definitely a royal pain. [edit] ArbCom clerking
Hey AGK, hope all is well. Just letting you know that when you close an arbitration case where an administrator is being desysopped, the arbitrators generally prefer to put the request in on meta themselves rather than the clerks doing it, so next time it might be best to close the case then go and prod some arbs to post on meta! Take care, Ryan Postlethwaite 22:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, right :) I'll bear that in mind! Thanks, Ryan. Anthøny 22:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
I just noticed that I can edit again using this user name. You'd probaly find out eventually, so I thought that I should go ahead and tell you so you can block it again. I don't really care, I just care about the Green Kirby username. So go ahead, I won't stop you. I'd also like for you to the section on my talk page called "well". By the way, happy birthday, I guess.Lego obi-wan (talk) 23:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Eyrian
Hello AGK, in your posting to Eyrian, where you informed him of his block, ban, and desysopping, you also put his talk page in the temporary userpages category. Just so you know, I've edited the page so his talk page is not in that category, as pages in that category are to be deleted after a certain amount of time, and since Eyrian's talk page contains a lot of valuable history, it would be a bad idea to delete his talk page. Best wishes. Acalamari 00:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well spotted :) thanks for the fix! Anthøny 17:15, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome! Acalamari 17:34, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RFA thanks
Dear Anthony,
Thank you for participating in my recent RfA. Words nor pictures can express my heartfelt appreciation at the confidence the community has shown me. I am both heartened and humbled by this confidence. I will carry the lessons learned from the constructive criticism I have received with me as I edit Wikipedia, and heed those lessons. Special thanks to Pedro and Henrik as nominators. Special thanks to Rudget who wanted to. A very special thanks to Moonriddengirl for her eloquence and perceptiveness. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 19:23, 30 November 2007 (UTC) |
- No problem! Best of luck ;) Anthøny 19:27, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your RFA message.
Thanks. I will keep checking with that as I go along. Dlohcierekim 19:32, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Great stuff ;) good luck! Anthøny 19:33, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] the mop

[edit] User:Rgsao
Hey, I was wondering how this guy's unblock was coming; you said on his talk page that you were handling it. I confess, from the SSP case, I'm failing to see why a block was warranted at all. GlassCobra 15:31, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- It has been handled, check out User talk:Rgsao#Blocked. Just an FYI, I declined his request: he's demonstrated that he cannot contribute to the encyclopedia. Anthøny 15:38, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Question for you
Hi, in case you didn't see it, I've asked you a question here. Tra (Talk) 13:05, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Y Replied. Anthøny 13:07, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Again, replied. Thanks for paying attention to that request; turns out, I was wrong there, and I have you to thank for correcting me. Cheers! Anthøny 14:03, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Privatemusings
Just reading the proposed remedies page. If 6 is the majority for this case, then why isn't proposed remedies 3 passed? Not saying I particularly want him to be banned (or otherwise), but yeah, think might have missed something out. Regards. KTC 13:48, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your enquiry. The majority is reached by taking the number of arbitrators in support of a remedy (or other proposed item), and subtracting from that the number in opposition. Thus, for #Privatemusings banned for 90 days, it is 6-2 which is 4. Since 6 is the majority, and only 4 is present, then the Ban does not pass. Does that explain it? Anthøny 13:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- I understand the concept of net vote count, but that's not my understanding of what's required to pass a proposed decision. At the top of a proposed decision page, we have
- For this case, there are X active Arbitrators, so (x/2)+1 votes are a majority.
-
- and not
- Y net "support" votes needed to
-
- such as appear in motion to close a case. Let's take an example from another recently closed case. Proposed remedy 8. 12 actives - 1 abstain gave 11 which gave 6 as a majority. As such, that remedy is listed as pass. Another example from the same case was when proposed remedy 6 was at 6-6 with the proposed (by one member) to remand the decision to Jimbo for tiebreak. No tiebreak would have been needed / possible if we were using net vote count. KTC 14:09, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Concur here; motion to close is the only thing calculated by net: everything else is an up-or-down vote. Mackensen (talk) 15:08, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think it is fixed, I'm not a clerk, please double check me. Nathan 15:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it is fine now. I concur again with Mackensen, motion to close is the only calculated by net, everything else is a simple majority. Cbrown1023 talk 17:26, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- *shakes self* I'm really sorry about that, everybody. That was a mistake on my part, and I apologise for it. My thanks to Mercury for noticing that, and correcting me. I'll be sure to bear that in mind in the future, everybody. Again, my apologies. Anthøny 17:52, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- No problems at all, it was just an accident, I actually delivered a newsletter to a few people's user pages instead of user talk pages the other day. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 00:16, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- *giggles* xD Anthøny 00:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- As Cbrown1023 said, don't worry about it, just a mistake. :) KTC 11:24, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another AzLehrer sockpuppet posting
He doesn't take kindly to having his sockpuppetry made public, evidently: [1]. Again, it's from an 89.1.xxx.xxx IP, this time 89.1.223.46 - and it'll be a different dial-up tomorrow, I'm sure. He simply refuses to go away, and a permanent solution would be wonderful. Thanks, Dyanega 18:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Y Done. Hopefully that will solve the problem, it blocks ~65'000 IP addresses in that range. There looks to be no likelihood of collateral damage, but it should keep him at bay. Anthøny 18:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] derek redux
Hi Anthony - not sure why this was edited over, but shouldn't the case be moved here to join its family and friends? I didn't move it myself because I'm not sure of the rules - if non-clerks can move these things around - not to give you more work. You've got plenty! Thanks for any insights Tvoz |talk 21:56, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- First of all, you are definitely allowed to move it around! Anybody can be a Clerk, we're just people who tidy up :) secondly, thanks for pointing that out: having dealt with the Dereks case several times before, you'd think I would realise that it already had an original case page... so, sorry about that! I'll go ahead and swap the relevant things around. Anthøny 22:00, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Congratulations on your legislative honors
Thank you for your message. To tell you the truth, it was a total surprise. I thought that I would be talking to Senator McClintock about some Medal of Honor recommendations so, I went dressed as usual and without my family. I don't think that I deserve such an honor, but I am happy that I can share it with the community. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship
Hi Anthony, even though I can forsee myself failing horribly, I'm requesting adminship on SHMM with my statement supplied with the link. Best, — Rudget contributions 19:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- You've actually got the wrong Wiki :) I assume you're looking for Help-Wiki (which superseded SHMM), which you can contact Qst on the editthis Wiki for details. Anthøny 19:19, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Dang it! :) Thanks anyway. Big help! — Rudget contributions 19:32, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
