You shouldn't be too worried about this being deleted. People occasionally nominate articles for deletion when they aren't familiar with the subject. That is usually a sign that the article does not make the importance of the subject clear to a layman. The best way to go about now is, above all, to avoid ranting about the stupidity of everyone and everything (I am not implying that you have done that, or are about to do it, but I am warning you, as it is a common and understandable reaction). Instead, you should be working systematically with providing the article with references to obituaries, reviews and citations in books that clarify the importance of Benardete in the large context of classical scholarship. I had never heard of Benardete but a quick search of Google and Google Books (see this search) convinced me of his significance. up+l+and 08:34, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
