It is believed that this image is fair use in Age of Renaissance as: 1. It is low-resolution, and is only an image of one side of the game box of a copyrighted board game. As such, its use here does not compete with the copyright holder's ability to profit from their copyright. 2. It is being used in Age of Renaissance to depict the subject of the article: no totally free image can do this, as any depiction of the game would be, at best, a derived work of a copyrighted one.
