[edit] Gameplay
Players select to play on either the Agathia Knight faction or Mason order. From here their objectives are determined usually to be from an offensive or defensive position. Player scoring is based on kills and contribution to objective completion within the map. Some maps have several objectives typically in a linear fashion. One completion leads to the next until the final objective has been completed or the defending team is able to prevent the other team from completing theirs.
Age of Chivalry uses a dynamic campaign, in which each scenario effects which map will be used in the next chapter.[1]
The main attributes of players are health, armor and stamina defined by the class they've selected. Weapons also deal different amounts of damage and have different speeds and limits of dexterity appropriate for its class.
There are three classes. Archers use bows and javelins to attack the enemy at range. Footmen are balanced for speed and power in melee combat and use a shield and one-handed weapon. Knights have superior strength, heavy armour and use two-handed weapons.
[edit] Critical reaction
PC Gamer highlighted the mod's large maps, describing the mountainous stretches as "tactics-encouraging" and overall should "encourage improvisation in team play."[1]
