Agboville

Agboville is one of the fifty-eight departments of Côte d'Ivoire, and located in Agnéby Region. It is near to Abidjan, and is a town in the department of Agneby. The local ethnic group is called Abbey. Abbey is one of over 60 ethnic groups represented in Cote D'Ivoire. The Abbey people have many traditions related to family and friends. One important holiday for the Abbeys is "La fete des ignames" or the "Yam Festival". Historically, La Fete des ignames is a celebration of a good harvest of yams because yams have been the greatest resource for the Abbey region of Agboville.
