[edit] Image:Bude canal.gif

Hi how did you make this image?Geni 18:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Corel Draw to make a vector image of the lines, then export to make a gif. The wonderful thing about gifs of line diagrams is that the file size is small even for a huge image.

The actual base mapping was done by comparing as many published maps as possible - contemporary and current. The wonderful thing about canals is that they have to follow the contours between locks -- or in this case inclined planes -- so it is child's play to infer a route between known points, and then compare it with overview route maps.

PS can you assist me with understanding the legalities?? Afterbrunel 09:33, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

If the maps were post 1957 there are potential isses with being a derivative of a copywriten work.Geni 11:39, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] North Cornwall Railway

Hi. I am proposing to change the "references" section, and move the majority into "sources". Glad you added ref to Delabole Quarry. Ref 6 the other I propose keeping as I for one wasn't aware. Romfordian 09:40, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Um, yes I suppose I hadn't given much thought to the differences between the two; but yes, go ahead. Afterbrunel 12:50, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
