After Ashley

After Ashley is a 2004 play written by Gina Gionfriddo.
The play was the hit of the 2004 Humana Festival [1] in Louisville where it received its world premiere in March of 2004. It was then produced in New York in February of 2005 at the Vineyard Theatre. This production was directed by Terry Kinney and starred Kieran Culkin, Anna Paquin, Dana Eskelson, and Grant Shaud. For his performance as Justin, Culkin won an Obie Award in 2005. Subsequent productions took place in Washington D.C. in September of 2005, and Philadelphia in February of 2006.
The play was one of three finalists for the Steinberg New Play Award in 2005, [2] as well as the John Gassner Playwriting Award.

- Alden Hammond, Justin's father. He is an education reporter when the play opens, but later becomes an author and a television host.
