[edit] Spelling of Oranjerivierafrikaans
According to the latest Afrikaans spelling rules, the correct spelling of the article's name would be "Oranjerivierafrikaans" (no hyphen). See AWS 2002 page 153, rule 14.14. -- leuce 10:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

'Kjerk' is very close to Norwegian dialect for 'church' (kjerke, kyrkja, etc), and 'gjeld' is Norwegian for 'debt'. Is this a coincidence or are there Nordic influences in this dialect of Afrikaans? --Joffeloff 19:43, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Possibly, but we won't put that in until we can find a source that says so.Cameron Nedland 02:52, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
