African Bird Club

The African Bird Club is an ornithological charity based in Britain, with the following aims:

  • to provide a worldwide focus for African ornithology
  • to raise money to support conservation projects in Africa through the Conservation Fund
  • to encourage an interest in the conservation of the birds of the region
  • to liaise with and promote the work of existing regional societies
  • to publish a twice-yearly colour bulletin, the Bulletin of the African Bird Club
  • to encourage observers to visit lesser known areas of the region, and search actively for globally threatened and near-threatened species
