In order to avoid conflicts and claims of original research, it's best to give more vague information in the opening and get more specific as the article progresses. They're definitely a rock band, but the more specific the genres that are introdued in the first sentence, the more people will want to change them and disrupt the article. There's as much room as is needed in the article to discuss musical style and the infobox covers all the genres.
