Afghanistan and Pakistan are neighbouring countries of South Asia. Their relationship has been affected by the Afghan Civil War as well as events after 911 and the war against the Taliban. Eastern Afghanistan is a predominately Pashto speaking area like the adjacent North-West Frontier Province (also known as Afghania) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
