Talk:Affiliation Quebec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Can somebody, PLEASE improve that party info. box on this article, because I clearly have not the slightest idea how to do it.
- I made the logo smaller (hopefully the fair use rationale is okay - it's my first one) and removed the reference to the party's colour (Blue) in the colourid field because it was screwing up the format. There doesn't seem to be a Category:Canadian political party colours templates for Blue or for Affiliation Quebec at the moment, so I made it blank. --Kateshortforbob 12:40, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
This party does not appear to be registered. The list of registered political parties in Quebec is publicly viewable and this party does not appear on it. So as it stands, it remains a group that has had only one public meeting, a small and unverifiable number of members and no major accomplishments. This page was deleted in August for not being notable and should not have been re-created. 24.201.231.219 17:45, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- That list is publicly viewable, but I notice your ID is not. Why is that?Toddsschneider 12:28, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
I didn't realize that registration with Elections Canada was needed for a political party to be included in wikipedia. Does that mean that unregistered political parties are not under any circumstances considered mentionable? (Canadianpunk77 21:03, 18 September 2007 (UTC))
- I don't know whether a party needs to be registered to be notable, but it needs some reliable secondary sources to assert notability per notability guidelines for organisations. A cursory glance at Google shows some local news coverage, at least, which might be a start. There is information on citing sources and citation templates which may prove useful. --Kateshortforbob 22:12, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
I think the point is whether anything relevant has changed since this article was deleted only a few weeks ago for not being notable, and it seems not. Galteglise 03:04, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
How come nobody has made this big of a deal about Parti unitaire du Québec, can't find much on them either! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.115.85.176 (talk) 21:27, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
The Parti unitaire page should probably be deleted, too. The only thing going for it is that it is officially registered, but it has never run any candidates and it does not seem clear that, other than filling in the registration paperwork, that it ever has any activities.Galteglise 20:09, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Affiliation Quebec has now become a registered party. But this page seems to be plagiarized and doesnt seem to read like a party advertisement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.81.83.72 (talk) 22:44, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
