For the mythological king with this name, see Aethlius.

Aethlius (Ancient Greek: Αέθλιος) of Samos was the author of a work titled Samian Annals (Ωροι Σάμιοι), the fifth book of which is quoted by Athenaeus,[1] although he expresses a doubt about the genuineness of the work.[2] Aethlius is also referred to by Clement of Alexandria,[3] Eustathius,[4] and in the Etymologicum Magnum.[5] His date is uncertain, but it is probable he lived some time in the 5th or 6th century.[6]
