I take issue with the way the article is written. It is written too much like a Wheel of Time book as opposed to a real encyclopedia. Nynaeve Al'Meara mentioned as a new sister as opposed to a main character in the series. Secrets that are not know by the Aes Sedai, but are known to readers of the books aren't included for instance The Yellow Ajah Rebels now knows the new way of healing using all five powers, but the Towers Yellows don't. The article incorrectly states that Egwene belongs to the Green Ajah. She was raised to Amyrlin directly from Accepted, and has thus never belonged to an Ajah. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.134.59.139 (talk • contribs).

The Amyrlin still belongs to an Ajah (as with Siuan Sanche, a Blue, and Elaida, a Red). amiИa (talk) 01:40, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Amina skywalker that is correct but as the anon. poster above stated, Egwene was never a part of an Ajah. SparrowsWing (talk) 02:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I apologize; I misunderstood what the anon. poster was saying. Nevertheless, IIRC, didn't Egwene join the Green Ajah when she was raised to Amyrlin? amiИa (talk) 21:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Hmm I don't think she ever did - I remember something about her becoming full Aes Sedai because she was Amyrlin (i.e. the definition of Amyrlin stated that any person who was Amyrlin was also Aes Sedai or something like that) but I don't think she ever formally declared herself to be a Green? Has been too long since I read that - mayboe someone with a more recent reading can confirm? SparrowsWing (talk) 21:23, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
No. Egwene claimed to be "Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah" when she was wandering around as a wild Accepted before arriving in Salidar. She never joined the Ajah though. Ramidel 06:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't have the books at hand, but judging from what I've found on wotmania.com and encyclopedia-wot.org, you're right...she has not yet officially joined an Ajah. amiИa (talk) 22:57, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

This article and most of the other ones about the wheel of time have prose that tries to copy Robert Jordan's writing style and some sections need rewrites because this is an encyclopedia, not a fansite. Dan Guan 22:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

I know that I'm coming into this way late, but if anybody tries to say that any Amyrlin belongs to an Ajah again, they will be wrong. Siuan Sanche was raised from the Blue Ajah but as Amyrlin she belonged to all Ajahs and none, as can be said for Elaida who was raised from the Red and now belongs to all Ajahs and none. Egwene, as is stated above, was raised directly from Accepted to Amyrlin so never chose an individual Ajah and also belongs to all and none. Pentagram16 20:39, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aes Sedai - AZI - Ay Zed Aye Association Zen International

Has anyone else noted that the "Aes Sedai" when taken as the phonetic of AZI (The Z pronounced Zed as in Canada) leads to the http://www.zen-azi.org/spip.php?rubrique2 Association Zen International. Zen having beliefs of the one source as well as their philosophy as being the servants of all... "May I be a lamp for those who seek light, a bed for those who seek rest -- a servant for all beings who need service." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.142.41.224 (talk) 01:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC).

Aes Sedai isn't the phonetic of AZI, there are two s sounds, and no a sounds so phonetically it would be IZSDI (Z being the american zee here). It's pronounced EYES SE DYE. Pentagram16 20:42, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ahsa'man

Before anybody freaks, I took out the Asha'man section of the article because they aren't male Aes Sedai. They don't have direct links to the White Tower, and are not led by it. Pentagram16 00:28, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Should male Aes Sedai be linked to "The Strike at Shayol Ghul"

"The Strike at Shayol Ghul" is a short story written by Robert Jorden and can be found at http://www.tor.com/shayol.html I think it is relevent enough to be included as an external link, but I don't know how to make an external link.
