Aerotone is a netlabel from Munich, Germany. It specializes in the free online-only distribution of various types of electronic music, which it refers to as "melancholic" music.
The label is well known in the netlabel community for its periodic releases of high-quality, DRM-free albums and compilations by relatively obscure electronic artists. It also occasionally releases albums which dabble in experimental, post-rock, and ambient forms of music. Releases 5 and 6, "Electronica Unplugged 1 and 2" are compilation albums by various artists with the novel concept of creating electronic-styled music with the use of acoustic instruments.
Aerotone grants its artists full rights to their work, and encourages sharing of the music through Creative Commons licensing.
