Jorge Newbery Airpark (Spanish: Aeroparque "Jorge Newbery") (IATA: AEP, ICAO: SABE) is located 2 km (1.2 miles) northeast of the center of Buenos Aires, a city in Argentina. The airport covers an area of 138 hectares (341 acres) and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A.[1] It is located in the city near the Río de la Plata. The airport is named after Argentinean aviator Jorge Newbery.
It is the main airport for domestic flights in Buenos Aires and only allows flights from Argentine and Uruguayan companies. Its military sector is the place where authorities would normally board the Tango 01, presidential aircraft; which is based at "El Palomar" military airport.
In 2007, the airport handled 5,665,808 passengers and 81,340 aircraft movements[4].

[edit] Accidents and incidents
On 31 August 1999, the Aeroparque was the scene for the crash of LAPA flight 3142, when 63 aboard and 2 people on ground were killed on the failed take-off of a LAPA flight.
