Aeolides (Gr. Αιολίδης) is a patronymic given to the descendants of Aeolus, as Magnes, Macareus, Misenus, &c.
Aeolis is the patronymic of the female descendants of Aeolus, and is given to his daughters Canace and Alcyone.
