Aeon is a Swedish brutal death metal band whose lyrical themes are highly based around anti-Christian beliefs. They spawned from the band Divine Desecration which was created in 1993 and split up in 1999 to create Aeon with 4 of 5 previous members (Tommy Dahlström, Johan Hjelm, Arttu Malkki, and Zeb Nilsson), but eventually Malkki and Hjelm left the band, leaving Aeon with just two original members.[1]

[edit] Metal Blade Records' 25th anniversary U.S. tour

Nils joined the band Dark Funeral, and elected to go on their tour, forcing Aeon to cancel their place on the anniversary tour with Cannibal Corpse and others.

"We're sorry to say that we have no other option but to cancel the Metal Blade 25th Anniversary US-tour in sept/oct. This is due to a decision by Nils to not go on the tour since it would conflict with upcoming Dark Funeral shows / tours and some personal family business...."

Nils was eventually kicked out of the band.

As of February 29, Nils has been officially confirmed as the returning drummer.
