[edit] entheogens and animal hallucinogens

first, this is from the Category_talk:Entheogens talk page-

I completely agree; that is the general tone of the article. more editing might need to be done then; for instance, most of the 2C-B etc articles start off with "an entheogen in the phenethylamine class . . . " but we have some standard usage of "entheogen" as opposed to "hallucinogen" and set up the category accordingly. --Heah 16:55, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

i've change all the cat removal edits from User:80.203.115.12 to Category:Hallucinogenic tryptamine carriers, as they certainly are related to hallucinogenic tryptamines, but i see his/her point- ayahuasca, for instance, is not a tryptamine, it is a concoction containing tryptamines. i've also added psychoactive toads to this; i'm not sure if animal hallucinogens warrants its own category, as i beleive that this is the only entry that would fit there. thanks--Heah 19:38, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] new wikiproject

Hi Aenar, i've sort of outlined a new wikiproject focusing on hallucinogens, as a descendant of the drug project, on the project:drugs talk page and thought you might perhaps be interested. --Heah 03:04, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] reasons behind removal of entheogen category from psilocybin?

Hello Aenar,

I've reverted your edit over at Psilocybin, the one where you took psilocybin out of the entheogen category. Just in case I'm missing something, could you explain your reasoning for eliminating the category? I think it's a pretty good fit; psilocybin is often popularly referred to as an entheogen, and the Wiki category even contains articles about psilocybin-containing mushroom species. --I. Neschek | talk 17:49, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hello Neschek. Please look at Category:Entheogens and its talk page, where I have described the reasoning. Regarding psilocybin, I kept Psychedelic mushrooms, but removed Psilocybin as the compound in itself doesn't have a history of entheogenic usages.
