AEGIS (network)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AEGIS SecureConnect (or simply 'AEGIS') is a network authentication system developed by Meetinghouse Data Communications, Inc., popular in IEEE 802.1X networks.

AEGIS Protocol is an 802.1X "supplicant" -- it handles authentication for wired and wireless networks, such as those that use WPA-PSK, WPA-Radius, or Certificate-based authentication. The software implementing 802.1X is commonly installed with configuration software for wireless PC cards.

The company was acquired by Cisco Systems and product has been renamed to "Cisco Secure Services Client".
