The following are a number of draft notability criteria for articles relating to football (soccer):
- Football players
A football player is notable if:
- He or she has played at a professional level within their country, or an equivalent if there is no professional level
- He or she has played in the national cup competition in his/her country (provided access to the cup is restricted)
- He or she has played for the national football team of his/her country
- Football clubs
A football club is notable if it:
- Plays or has played at a professional or semi-professional level within the country, or an equivalent thereof if there is no professional level
- Plays or has played at a notable amateur level (depending on the country's football structure)
- Plays or has played in the national cup competition
- Plays or has played in an international tournament organized by FIFA or a continental confederation (AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, OFC and UEFA).
- Plays or has played a significant role in the history of football in the country
- National football teams
A national football team is notable if:
- It is or was a full or provisional member of FIFA or an affiliated continental confederation (AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, OFC and UEFA).
- It is or was a full or provisional member of Nouvelle Fédération-Board
- Football competitions
Any official football competition organized by a member state of FIFA or an affiliated continental confederation (AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, OFC and UEFA) is considered notable.
