Deleted

I'm gonna say this is non-notable, and so should be deleted as per guidelines. However, I'm too enw here to know how to delete, so can someone template it for me? The best I could do is blank the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.164.23 (talk) 22:03, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Ahem... well, first, welcome to Wikipedia.
Secondly, you can't just delete things. You need to file a complete and orderly "Articles for Deletion" entry for the page. (Just a note, this article passed one back in Oct. '06, so I'd daresay you're wasting your time trying, but to each his own) Granted, I don't know how to start one; you're best bet is to look around Wiki. ----Jump! Slash! Dash! Ouch! Super Mario SonicBOOM! 20:13, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

AdventureQuest is a very popular online RPG with millions of users. "Non-notable"? If that was the guidelines for deletion, probably half of Wikipedia would be gone within a week. Just because YOU don't play AQ doesn't mean other people don't. Also, many people (including myself) come straight to Wikipedia when they have a question about some strange thing that most encyclopedias wouldn't have. Deleting something just because it's not "notable", even if the article is helpful to many people, stinks of censorship. 71.10.48.39 (talk) 20:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Currently Released Events, Ballyhoo, and SP

I believe this little bit in the article will help people understand the weekly and sometimes twice weekly events. It will only have up to four events on it at a time with date released and will be taken off if the event is no longer available to players. It will not give away spoilers like for example the boss of the current war's name, it merely will tell you what's going on in AQ recently. Please tell me what you think.

Veonyx (:0) 16:31, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

I have also included Ballyhoo and Skill Points.

If This Were Fixed...

It could be a "good article"

Added References

I felt the need to add many references so we can get that stupid header off the article.

-Veonyx (talk) 04:01, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I like that attitude. I wish I knew where to look for refs other than BattleOn. --Eruhildo (talk) 22:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, if your adding something new like classes, it is very easy to find them on the forums.

-Veonyx (talk) 02:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I need back-up

This article is under a lot of fire by vandals. I would now like to humblely request help. This would make my job and the jobs of the IP users who want to help a WHOLE lot easier.

-Veonyx (talk) 03:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I'll do what I can. Maybe we could get the page locked down for a couple of days to send a message, or try to get the regular IP editors to get acounts or something and lock it for longer. --Eruhildo (talk) 22:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Is there anyway to get a lock that blocks only IP users? -Veonyx (talk) 02:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I put in a request at WP:RFP. If they accept it, IP editors won't be able to edit this page for awhile, but they can still use this talk page (or get an account ^_^). --Eruhildo (talk) 04:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, it was denied for now, but if things get really bad we can always try again. --Eruhildo (talk) 17:47, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I've put in another request and hoping for at least a 2 week semi-protection to ward off IP vandals.-Veonyx (talk) 02:31, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

AWWW... It was denied again. Oh well, all we have to really do is wait for a bad day and submit it then since the reason it was denied was beacause there was not enough RECENT vandalism.~§ Veonyx § (talkto me) —Preceding comment was added at 04:00, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Spelling

The article uses both "Adventure Quest" (with a space) and "AdventureQuest" throughout. Could we pick one and stick with it? I prefer "AdventureQuest" as that's how it's officially spelled, but as long as it's consistent throughout the article I don't care that much. --Eruhildo (talk) 21:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I second that. It should be AdventureQuest (one word). I will get right on it. -DONE

-Veonyx (talk) 22:53, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! --Eruhildo (talk) 17:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

How would we...

How would we be able to take those annoying headers off the article. They make the work look unprofessional. Can we just take it off willy-nilly or is there a process?ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 04:32, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Does anybody have a Lv. 100 account?

This is a talk page for the article, not a forum for AQ players, please keep that in mind. ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 19:17, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Clean-up

I have cleaned up the talk page by getting rid of questions that have now been for about even a year now, answered.ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 14:55, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that - it's something I've been meaning to do myself. However, talk pages should be archived so past discussions can be viewed more easily. I went ahead and archived everything you deleted. If you want to read up on talk page archiving, see Help:Archiving a talk page. Thanks for your hard work. --Eruhildo (talk) 20:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Recognition

For a few months, I've been keeping up with the AdventureQuest article and done very few minor edits such as updates and word corrections. So far, the heavy editors are the ones who get recognized. How about the ones who helped even though it's a bit small? ~~Enterprise-1701e~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Enterprise-1701e (talkcontribs) 22:54, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean by recognize? --Eruhildo (talk) 23:53, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Indeed, no one is getting metals or awards for being a "heavy editor". They just do it because they care about the article, not for the glory.ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 00:22, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

OK,OK. Even if I don't get medals, I can still make friends here, right? (Uhhh...is this out of topic??) ~~Enterprise-1701e~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Enterprise-1701e (talkcontribs) 09:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Yeah dude, you can make friends. I mean, our purpose of being here isn't to make friends - it's to work on the article - but it's not like you never get to know anyone. Since Wikipedia is a community effort, we naturally have to work together and communicate (that's why we have a talk page - to discuss issues). Oh, and about medals: I've been on Wikipedia for over a year and have made over 600 edits just to the mainspace and I've never gotten an award. So don't worry if it seems like no one notices your work. If you're making good edits (which you are) then we're all breathing a sigh of relief. ^_^ --Eruhildo (talk) 22:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Are you really sure I make good edits? Those were only very minor edits! I only did about 40 tiny edits since December 31, 2007 (UTC)... Enterprise-1701e (talk) 12:35, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

40 edits already? I made less than that in my first 6 months ^_^. Even if it's just fixing one comma, every edit that improves an article is important. Of course, while making multiple edits at one go is better if you see the need for them, sometimes all that is needed is a small grammar or spelling fix. Besides, if you don't make the edit, someone else will have to anyway - though it might take longer for them to find and fix it. Like I said, this is a community effort - everyone pitches in in whatever way they can. (Oh, by the way, you might want to start indenting your posts - it makes it easier to follow discussions.) --Eruhildo (talk) 13:11, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
OK. I'll do it. Enterprise-1701e (talk) 22:25, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Article title

I would like to move the article back to AdventureQuest as that is the game's title per its title screen and website (yes the top of the page says AdventureQuest RPG when you go to play, but that's just to let you know it's an RPG). Is anyone opposed? --Eruhildo (talk) 08:53, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm not. I support your move. Enterprise-1701e (talk) 22:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
I felt the RPG part on the article would be helpful (for some odd reason, I really don't know why I thought it was). Let's change it back!ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 23:50, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism is cutting way down. I can finally not check the article every day! Hopefully it stays like this. ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 23:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Sweet, glad to hear that. Sorry I haven't been able to help out with the vandalism lately. --Eruhildo (talk) 02:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Criticism section...

Is this section (Criticism) really needed? If not, then could anybody please remove it. I think it's irritating; people might not like the game because of the section, but it also tells a big truth about the game.Enterprise-1701e (talk) 15:06, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

That would be why we should keep it. It tells the game's whole truth. I think it should stay, but we could change the name. After all, an encyclopedia article should tell everything, not just the good parts.

-ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 23:54, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Then, how do we rename it? "Problems"? I can't think; can you? PS: Is it okay that I changed it to In-game problems? Enterprise-1701e (talk) 02:01, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
It sounds a lot better. Thanks!ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 01:29, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
No problem. I don't want to see a person looking at the article and seeing the "Criticism" section, he/she might not want to join. Enterprise-1701e (talk) 05:14, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

We're not here to make people join the game, we're here to give valid information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.126.59.28 (talk) 00:05, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I think "Reception" would be a better term (see WP:VG/GL#Critical content). "Problems" sounds worse to me than "Criticism" anyway (it's not like AE did a poor job writing it - they wanted it the way it is, just some people don't like it). Like the person above said, we're not here get people to join the game, we just present the facts. Criticism for a game is one of the most important parts of an article like this, so it definitely should not be removed. Well, I'm kind of busy right now, so happy editing y'all. --Eruhildo (talk) 01:57, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

There's a discussion going on about the name of the criticism section on the project talk page. --Eruhildo (talk) 17:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

AQ Game Sweep

This "Game Sweep" says that it will balance monsters and items. When will it be finished? Captain | contribs 03:02, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

The game sweep takes a long time, sometimes a year or more. I do not know when it will be finished, the best I can do is provide you the link to the official sweep thread on the forums. Click Here Also, some plans can be read here, Click Here. ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 23:00, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I thought it would be really quick, as in 1-10 days. Captain | contribs 21:22, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Multiplayer Functions in MQ

I'm not a usual editor of this article (I don't play nearly enough to be of any use!), but I was skimming through the article when I noticed this line right at the bottom: " It was confirmed by Rolith that it would be possible for MechQuest to be multiplayer after the Starship Release. " No sources, or anything. I checked the forums and this thread[1] was the only thing from Rolith on multi-player abilities in AE games. So if there's no other evidence for something about MQ getting multi-player functions, would anyone mind if I just removed the sentence from the article or reworded it to be a bit less specific? As it stands, it seems misleading and incorrect. Alinnisawest (talk) 22:12, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree. I have trying to hunt down the source to that info. also. Alas, I couldn't find it either. I will remove it. Thanks for the notice! ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 23:04, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Help!

The article hasn't received any update recently, at least what I can see. I cannot provide any update because I cannot login (due to my Adventurer status), so please, do something. Thanks! Captain | contribs 22:14, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Overloaded Server

Quick question about the overloaded server problem; if a guardian starts an account, and an Adventurere makes a file on that account, can he get on? - 216.79.136.94 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:20, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't know, but I think that would be good thing to add to the article. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Exactly. having a file on a guardians account does not make you a guardian, but I am wondering if it at least gives you this right... - 209.244.16.213 (talk)

*Chuckles* So you found the loophole. Goodjob. Indeed, having an adventurer on a Guardian account allows the adventurer to log in whenever also. I don't know if it should be added since it is a loophole...
By the way IP user:209.244.16.213, I have seen you have been getting into a lot of vandalism problems, may I suggest (if you have a shared IP address) creating an account for yourself.
