[edit] Description

Adventures in the Stars is an exploration/trading game similar to Elite, although a lot less successful. Adventures in the Stars had six galaxies with over 500 planets to explore. The player starts out in the Milky Way galaxy on Aldebaran with a Hawk space shuttle. The player could then perform missions for various factions in the game or just become a trader or pirate. The story revolved around an intergalactic brotherhood that was attempting to bring the universe into total chaos. Once this happened, an ancient god would arise and destroy everything. At this point, the only way the player could win was by returning to Aldebaran and entering the password 48617374757200 into the Colonial computer system.

While it had an ambitious plot, Adventures in the Stars suffered from poor execution. It received only lukewarm praise and it was eventually abandoned.
