The Advanced Distributed Learning Workforce Co-Lab was founded in 2003 under a joint agreement between the US Department of Defense and the University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology.[1] Under the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative, the lab was originally founded and directed by Eric Matthews and Dr. Xiangen Hu. The Workforce Co-Lab has been charged by the US Department of defense to help business and industry adapt ADL technologies into their worker training and development programs. Located in Memphis, Tennessee the Co-Lab, is presently under the direction of Dr. Xiangen Hu and Dr. Daniel Rehak and is affiliated with the University of Memphis.
