[edit] Spiritism
Hi, Adriatikus! Could you tell me if is there any article in Romanian Wikipedia about it? If not, could you help me translating it, actually a simplified version of the English article? Arges 02:58, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- As Spiritism article in English Wikipedia is too long, I think we'd better make a simplified version. I did myself the core of this article in English, so I could send you a resume of its main points. What do you think? Arges 15:37, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- I asked help for many users because I usually don't have answers from any... As you can see, only you and other guy responded my request. Anyway, my point is that Romanian is the only Latin language with no article about this subjetc. I did myself articles on Spiritism in Greek ans Russian, and improved significantly Portuguese, Italian, English and Spanish ones. I've surely had help from native speakers of these languages. And that's what I'm looking for! This is, at last for me, a very interesting subject, and I think it's a good idea to divulge a basic knowledge about it. It's a page of Science, Religion and Epistemology social transformations during European 19th century that many people, for different reasons, prefer to hide or forget. By the way, I did ask help for translating the article to Polish! And I've being thinking of other possibilities... Arges 22:05, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Adriatikus, I'm sorry that I didn't thank you before, for translating that text! Thank you very much, and I hope I can count on you for further projects! As well as you can surely count on me for whatever you need in Portuguese, Italian and a bit of Spanish! Arges 14:55, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] mo.wiki
Buna,
Dapiks 23:29, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, impresionanta lista asta. Ar trebui sa ne folosim mai des de ea. Si se vede ca deja ai reusit s-ai inchizi gura :). Sa vedem si ce mai zic observatorii neutrii. Dapiks 06:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- So why don't we do the same, right? Tsk. Perhaps I should place a translation of this over there? --Illythr 17:59, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, this is much worse than Node did - he appealed only to some generic Russians, whereas you are "politically selective". --Illythr 17:59, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Ever heard of lobby ? Adriatikus 13:49, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- A pressure group, used to push the views of a political minority as those of the entire population? This is one of the key forms of political corruption that brought all the strife to my country back it the late 80s' and early '90s. Yes, I know it well. --Illythr 19:10, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Messing up the text
Huh, sorry man, how the heck did I do that?! I'll try to restore the text back as it was... --Illythr 17:20, 5 July 2006 (UTC) (pause, looks more closely) Oh, scared me there, you did. Whew! Well, if that's the way you want it, so be it. Didn't want to clutter up the page with those classic bullet-list-type debates... --Illythr 17:23, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
--
There was another nasty little trick you used - labeling:
- The only official body stating the existence of this language is the Moldovan Parlament, ruled by the communists.
Perhaps I'm being paranoid, but it looks like if Communists would be replaced with Bogeymen, the general idea of the sentence will remain intact. Especially since you happened to forget some of the facts I provided about these "Communists". --Illythr 17:52, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Transliteration
Hello Adriatikus. As posted on meta.wiki, I suggest we push not for transliteration on ro.wikipedia, but for the transformation of mo.wikipedia into a transliteration tool. Thus, the Romanian purists have it their way (and they are not entirely wrong, given that Romanian is not written in Cyrillic). Also, Moldovanists have their language code (which is what they want). And the people that may really be interested in the cyrillic content - the Romanians/Moldovans that (are forced to) use it in Transnistria - get the content, so that the overlords of wikipedia cannot object to the proposal on this ground. At the same time, the page containing the transliteration tool will explicitly say the text is transliterated from Romanian, which is fair enough for the Romanian contributors. And, most important, trolls cannot edit. :) Dpotop 09:21, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Try this link http://mcworld.org/McChirilic/?pagina=Limba_moldoveneasc%C4%83 for the transliteration tool. Never checked it, though. landroni 07:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] revert dispute International reactions to the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict
Hi and welcome, There is an dispute in International reactions to the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. The dispute is over inclusion of the AIPAC reaction to a US House of Representatives Resolution expressing support for Israel. Various accusations are being thrown around by Comrade438 eg. im being accused of trying to paint a "zionist conspiracy".
Comrade438 has made few silly edits, and comments, along with what might be a threat. It degenerated to Comrade438 blocking the page without consulting WP:RPP, then reverting last changes. I am trying to alert other users who have edited the article to this dispute as I believe the detail should be included. Is it possible you can look and see if you agree that AIPAC's reaction should be included in the article? I dont believe its a content issue and is possible trolling. I previously highlighted the problems on wikipedian noticeboard [2] 82.29.227.171 21:27, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- you should log in if you want to start a debate, and to receive reply
- I think intl reactions does mean reactions of the governments
- any reaction has its reasons, and it's up to analysts to argue on them and they largely remain a matter of speculation
- writing in such an article about reasons and unofficial parties reactions would overload it; this isn't an analysis article; if this is to be done for US, what about the other countries?
- should we also speculate about an "anti-terrorism like reaction of Israel" that forced US to accept its attack? this could be a good reason, don't you think?
- In conclusion, I think the AIPAC paragraph is overload on the article, and also that this is a content issue. -- adriatikus | 22:17, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Transliterarea ro.wiki
Pe meta am lasat o legatura care te-ar ajuta in transliterarea ro.wiki in chirilica. Mi-i interesant daca ti-a fost utila si daca faci ceva in directia aceasta. Cred ca cel mai simplu ar fi de contactat pe Bogdan, autorul scriptului. --landroni 20:05, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Note on adding full Eastern Orthodox Project to your watchlist
This is a note for members of the Eastern Orthodox Project: Since the project's main page has been converted to a portal-style box format, each of the boxes is actually its own page (you can see the page outside its box by clicking the 'Edit' link on any often the section boxes on the project page, which takes you to the edit page for its contents). Because of this, updates to individual box contents will not necessarily show up on editors' watchlists, if you've only got the main project page watched.
In order to keep up to date with all updates to the Project and its pages, I'd recommend adding each subpage to your watchlists. These are:
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy - The main Project page
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Intro - The introduction to the Project text, in the top box
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Scope - Goals of the project text
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Subsections - Listing of Project sub-areas
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Tasks - Main listing of pages, etc., needing work
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Templates - Listing of Project templates
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Participants - Listing of members
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Related - Listing of areas related to Project
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Notes - Notes on Project
If you add all of the above pages to your watchlist, you should be informed whenever any part of the WikiProject Eastern Christianity is edited/updated. To discuss this, please see the relavent section of the Project's talk page. —Antonios Aigyptostalk 09:28, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Adriatikus, the difference is that Mind-body dichotomy is the starting "point" of Dualism, and Dualism is broader. This is already stated in the article, I thought it was clear but maybe it can be further clarified. Cheers. --BMF81 13:26, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources
Stoglov(One hundred Chapters) of 1551, CHAP. 31: The sign of the cross must be made according to the rules, in the form of a cross; and the right hand, that is, the dextral hand, must be used in crossing oneself, with the thumb and the two lower fingers joined together, and the extended index finger joined to the middle finger, slightly bent; thus should prelates [and] priests give their blessing and thus should men cross themselves. . . . It befits all Orthodox Christians to hold their hand thus, and to make the sign of the cross upon their face with two fingers, and to bow, as we said before. If anyone should fail to give his blessing with two fingers, as Christ did, or should fail to make the sign of the cross with two fingers, may he be accursed. . .

[edit] RE:Church of the Nativity
Yes I know of the Church's supreme religious significance, however the article is linked and/or mentioned constantly throughout Bethlehem (Take a look at the entire history section). Because it is linked so often, I don't think it should be present at the Further reading heading at the top of the section. The Nativity of Jesus on the other hand, is an article devoted to the birthplace of Jesus which perfectly fits that particular section's context. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, Cheers! --Al Ameer son (talk) 23:27, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Church link stays! I don't really think we need it there but if you think it should stay, I don't have a problem with it, it does no harm. --Al Ameer son (talk) 01:19, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Truth
O.K. not to be mean but you must not do research. Christmas is a pagan holiday. Let me explain, When Emperor Nero took over he had many holidays (easter is another example) but they had different names. When Nero took over he had to find a way to celebrate these holidays those who already celebrated it and the Christians so he wouldn't have a riot against him by one group. Christmas is one of those holidays. Christmas (I can't remember what it was origionally called) was origionally a year where people would torture the Jews, for example, they would fatten them up and make them go door to door singing song while unclothed (where Christmas carols came from). And I don't want to change the Jesus article name to Yeshua I just want somebody to mention that it is His REAL name because ther is NO J in the Hebrew alphabet (there is a yod in the Hebrew alphabet which is like a Y). I don't want to start a ""fight"" over this thing but this the true origion of Christmas and Jesus's real name. The K.O. King (talk) 23:29, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
If you want the TRUE origion of Christmas here are some links. [[5]] and [[6]]. Nuff' Said!!! The K.O. King (talk) 02:32, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

How about this link, http://www.thecrg.org/books/ttoc.html? I just wabt you to know that this is history and a scientist can't tell you about history you can find the TRUE origion of christmas on any encyclopedia (except for apparantly this one). The K.O. King (talk) 23:25, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I guess the source didn't come up like I thought. Try typing it in manually. The K.O. King (talk) 19:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
How am I insulting your intelligence??!!! If anyone is insulting intelligence it is YOU Mr. If it's not written by a scholar or a scientist it must be true even though history can't be changed. You just can't except the fact it is really really sad. Look it up and study history yourself. Just tell me why are you being so stubborn about this? Are you scared of history? The K.O. [edit] Help, please
{{helpme}}
Hi! Someone has uploaded an image on Commons with the wrong attribution. The image is actually mine. The user who did it is [7], and the image is [8]. I've originally uploaded it to another site under a free license. Can't remember where, but I'll find it in 24hrs. The problem isn't the license, but the attribution. I can prove I'm the author because I always upload images (including WP) at a lower resolution than the original, and I have the original - the uploaded image is 1024x768, the original 1600x1200 (if some an admin wants to check, I'll e-mail it). I also have other photos from the same location because I've done them... from the window of my home.
This is plain theft and because I'm angry I think it's best for me not to speak with the uploader. Thank you. adriatikus | talk 10:41, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- 7 images uploaded by that user have already been deleted as copyright violations. Most likely, the image of yours they uploaded is a copyright violation as well, because almost all the free licences you're likely to have used have attributing the author as a condition. (The exceptions are CC-sa (as opposed to CC-by-sa) and 'public domain', neither of which require attributing the author.) If you find the original source, or let someone trusted know (I'm an admin here but not on Commons), the image would qualify for speedy deletion as an obvious copyright violation (after which you could upload your own, correctly attributed version, or I could upload it for you with correct attribution if you let me know which license you like and how to attribute it; even if you can't, the image would most likely qualify for ordinary-speed deletion as a probable copyright violation, but that takes longer. I'll put a copyright-challenge notice on that image now. Hope that helps! --ais523 11:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information; I've marked the image as a speedy-deletable copyright violation, and a Commons administrator should delete it soon. (The image can be reuploaded in a non-copyvio manner when the infringing version is deleted, either by you or by anyone else who actually obeys the image's license.) --ais523 11:37, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Asybaris01 (talk) 14:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
