I have changed the tone of this entry somewhat. While I think biographical pages should be accurate and even-handed, I'm not sure such a negative page was appropriate. If people want to be highly negative about Carr, they should probably take that to the BC Green Party page rather than trashing her here. By the way, this page really needs some better stuff about her work with WCWC -- this was 20 years of her life, after all. [unsigned]

It's possible that the previous version left an unfairly negative impression, and some changes may have been in order. That said, the current page is little better than a promotional piece.

"She is every bit as comfortable at a trade union meeting as at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon" is not objective reporting. I'm not going to revert the changes outright, but this page requires signficant improvement from the current version. CJCurrie 18:50, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Text moved here from article

Ref NPOV, this requires a rewrite:

While some accuse Carr of being a supporter of the so-called "eco-capitalist" ideology favoured by federal Green Party leader Jim Harris (her party uses the slogan "Fiscally Conservative - Socially Responsible"), this does not appear to be an accurate description. Her political choices have exhibited a pragmatism that appear to make her anything but an ideologue. She is every bit as comfortable at a trade union meeting as at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Her allegiance, instead, appears to be more to the party as an organization; as a result, she has strongly opposed Greens entering into electoral alliances with other parties, despite support for such moves from those close to her inner circle.

[edit] NPOV cleanup

This article is listed on the NPOV backlog. I've moved a paragraph here from the article (above) and made a few small changes. Since and there's no discussion suggesting further disagreement I'm removing the tag. If you disagree with this, please re-tag the disputed section with {{NPOV-section}} (or the article with {{NPOV}}) and post to Talk. Also consider improving the article yourself. -- Steve Hart 00:29, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

As one of the unsigned contributors, I am very happy with the cleanup work on this article. However, I renew my call for contributions from those who followed her 1980-2000 work with WCWC that built the reputation and support base she used to seize control of the Greens. [unsigned, again]

[edit] Address Revert.

Not a HOME address, it's an office building. ---Wolfe 02:42, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

AAAAHHHH. thanks for clarifying that. Cheers!

[edit] WCWC

In the opening comments on this talk page it was mentioned that she had spent 20 years of her life involved with Western Canada Wilderness Committee I will work on getting some ref's for this to be included. -Wolfe 17:13, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
