"Remains a largely undergound figure"? Where did this come from? He's one of the top selling alternative comics creators.

It isn't, though. Alternative comics are hardly underground, anymore. They're readily available at comic book stores and most bookstores. Also, I'd hardly consider The New Yorker to be an underground publication. Also, I can see the comparisons to Craig Thompson and Harvey Pekar, but Tomine and Speigalman's works aren't similar at all.
