Adrienne Cahalan is the only woman competing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006, Adrienne is a qualified lawyer and has a master’s degree in Applied Meteorology.
After learning to sail as a teenager Adrienne has acquired four World Yachtswoman of the Year nominations, experience in three previous Whitbread/Volvo Ocean Race campaigns, circumnavigated the globe on several projects, and was part of the Cheyenne crew which broke the Round the World World Speed Record in 2004. She grew up on the Lane Cove River in Australia (part of Sydney Harbour) and raced Lasers - as a member of the 12 foot skiff club.
