Lam is one of few player to have played state of origin for Q.L.D and for a country other thaen Australia. And is the only player to be captain a Q.L.D side and captain a national team other than Australia. The reason he was allowd to do this was due to the super league war, Q.L.D were in need of a half back due to the fact Allan Langer had signed with super league. Although this decision was not popular with many Lam has allways believed him self to be more of a Queenslander than Papua New Guinea in every thing but birth right.
Adrian Lam gained some notoriety when a personal home video he had made found its way into some 'adult' video stores.
